Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. Imaging Informatics Option Rolls Out Updated Curriculum

When it comes to the ever-changing world of health care and fast-paced radiography field, Clarkson College is committed to keeping its program curriculum up-to-date and ensuring students receive the best educational experience. This dedication recently resulted in an update to the Medical Imaging Informatics Certificate offered within the Radiography program.

The certificate option’s refreshed curriculum will feature new courses reflective of the field’s most current practices, and its first students will begin classes Aug. 26. The online Medical Imaging Informatics Certificate is designed for professionals with a radiology background who are interested in advancing their career as a Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) specialist. The certificate option consists of four six-week courses and is offered entirely online with part- and full-time options available.

Upon completing the certificate and meeting the requirements of the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), students are eligible to sit for the Society in Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) examination. Other certifications or exams can be obtained through the PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA).
